The skirt support you choose can make all the difference in how your gown lays. The bum pad style consists of a clam shell-shaped pillow on a cotton tape. This particular support gives a medium amount of lift to the back of the gown, and a nice natural (though enhanced) curve.
To add this feature to your outfit, tie the tape around your waist over your stays prior to putting on your petticoat. The lightweight addition will add a curve to the back of the gown that will show off the expert pleating!
